Blackmailed battenburg ally Tony (fucking) Blair is the main reason that the (real) powers that be will not (IMO) allow him (Starmer) to become PM. Ben Wallace's decision to step down from government and as an MP at the next GE for his (traditionally Labour) Preston seat tells me that the next election may well be democratic. If so that would mean no more blackmailed Battenburg's and no Kier Stramer. Obviously short of speculating, I still don't know how those two goals will be achieved.
